2017 – Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from Legal Profession Qualifying Board.
Sept 2018 – Called to the Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya after completing her pupillage at Messrs Lim Huck Aik, Penang.
Oct 2018 til July 2020 – Legal Associate at Messrs. Lim Huck Aik, Penang (predominantly in areas of corporate dispute).
July 2020 til January 2021 – Legal Associate at Messrs. Y. C. Wong, Kuala Lumpur.
February 2021 – To-date – Senior Associate at Messrs. Foo Hiap Siong & Co, Cheras.
Upon obtaining her first degree, Amely had the opportunity to work as a Marketing Executive in Phillip Capital Malaysia located in Penang. She was tasked with expansion of business volume of clients’ investing with on and off-shore investments. Her main portfolio was to study and compare performance of various funds and to assist agents with incorporation and to conduct seminars for existing and potential investors.
Subsequently, Amely pursued legal education and graduated with an Honours LLB from the University of London and completed her Certificate of Legal Practice in 2017. As she read Law as part of her post degree, she is driven by the strong desire to speak up against injustice and to right the wrongs.
Amely handles corporate and commercial disputes matters ranging from company and shareholders’ disputes, contractual disputes, conspiracy and fraud, employment, injunctions, Winding-up proceedings and etc.
Amely joined Messrs Foo Hiap Siong & Co. in year 2021 as Senior Associate to which she will be leading the dispute resolution department and handling most contentious cases for the firm. Apart from dispute resolution, she would be taking care of the pre-emptive litigation process for cases that will subsequently going through a major litigation process.
